Beyond Robotics | Ηitchhiking in Space Workshop

Non-Profit Student Robotics Team

Beyond Orbit is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities to students (undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D.), young scientists and engineers in engineering projects that combine space with innovation.

In this environment, Beyond Robotics was born, a student team that designed and built the 1st Greek rover to compete in the European Rover Challenge (ERC). Beyond Robotics designed and built TALOS, a rover that is a mobile scientific platform and an autonomous exploration vehicle at the same time. Some of the basic functionalities of TALOS include: traversing anomalous terrain, collecting, storing and analyzing terrain samples, and interacting with switches and buttons on a panel through a robotic arm.

Ηitchhiking in Space

An experiential workshop for manned and unmanned space exploration like never before! For the first time at TedX Athens “X Machina”, the National Rover Team “Beyond Robotics”, which won 1st Prize in the Scientific Task of the World Final of the European Rover Challenge 2023, with just the first participation of Greece in the World Competition, will travel you to nearby and distant planets to discover how one would survive there. What does one need to live on another planet? What is a rover and what does it do? Also, what is Greece’s contribution in the field of space exploration? What is happening today with the space industry in Greece? Come and discover the answers together on October 5th!
