Your Idea Could Go Global: TEDxAthens Joins TEDx Global Idea Search 2025

We are proud to announce that TEDxAthens is participating in the TEDx Global Idea Search, an international initiative led by TED in partnership with nine TEDx communities across the globe. Together, we are on a mission to uncover and elevate world-changing ideas. Τhe kind of ideas that can challenge assumptions, spark new ways of thinking, and make a lasting impact.

As one of the selected TEDx events, TEDxAthens will host a special local event featuring 10 remarkable finalists, each chosen for the strength, originality, and potential of their idea. These finalists will present their TEDx talks live in Athens, and from that group, one speaker will be selected by the TED team to take the stage at TED 2026 in Vancouver, joining the lineup of speakers at TED’s flagship global conference.

We are currently accepting applications for this unique opportunity, and we invite individuals from across Greece and beyond to share their boldest, most compelling ideas. The application deadline is September 15, 2025.

What are we looking for?
Ideas that are fresh. Perspectives that are provocative. Concepts that can shift culture, inspire action, or help solve urgent challenges. Your idea could be rooted in science, art, technology, education, social change, design, or a topic entirely your own.

Who should apply?
Anyone with a powerful idea worth spreading. You don’t need to be a professional speaker or have any public platform – just a clear, well-formed idea and the passion to share it.

Why this matters:
This is a rare chance to be part of a global platform that has helped amplify the voices of thinkers, doers, and visionaries from every walk of life. Selected speakers will work closely with both the TEDxAthens and TED teams to refine their talks and prepare for the stage.
