On Wednesday, October 1st, the TEDxAthens Salon on “Longevity” captivated a full house at the Michalis Cacoyannis Foundation, offering an evening brimming with ideas, inspiration, and thought-provoking discussions on one of today’s most pressing questions: how can we not only live longer but also live better?
Supported by NN Hellas, the event featured world-class scientists and researchers sharing their insights on the future of aging and wellbeing. Dr. Joseph Coughlin, founder of the MIT AgeLab, offered a bold vision for the future of aging and innovation. Dr. Mariam Elgabry, biotechnologist and founder of Bronic, explored the intersection of microbiome research and artificial intelligence, presenting a new perspective on health. Dr. Steve Allder, Consultant Neurologist at Re:Cognition Health, highlighted the critical link between brain function and longevity, while Dr. Stathis Gonos, Director of Research at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, shared the latest findings on healthy long life.
A highlight of the evening was the Longevity Chat, in which Dr. Coughlin engaged in an open conversation with Philippa Michali, Chairwoman BoD and CEO of NN Hellas, exploring the challenges, opportunities, and meaning of wellbeing in a world where living beyond 100 years is becoming increasingly likely. The discussion was skillfully moderated by journalist Nikos Efstathiou, adding energy and depth to the conversation.
Attendees also experienced longevity firsthand through interactive activities, including NN Hellas’s “labyrinth of experience,” which invited visitors to explore how prepared they are to live longer and healthier lives.
