Although TEDxAthens is run and organized exclusively by a team of volunteers, still it remains a very expensive Conference, aiming to live up to its world-class standards. General Ticket

General Tickets subject to availability.

Your TEDxAthens GENERAL TICKET grants you access to the Main Stage, the Alternative Stage, and all parallel activities. It allows you to watch all talks and participate in all parallel activities and workshops, but it does not guarantee the availability of seats at all times, at your preferred stage.

• The total number of tickets on sale corresponds to the capacity of both stages. Furthermore, your ticket grants you access to an all-day-long food & beverage experience and to the TEDxAthens Party, at the end of the Conference.

• As always, seating in both stages as well as all parallel activities is based on “free seating” and on a “first-come, first-served basis” for everyone. Participants cannot reserve or withhold seats at any time during the Conference.

• Participation in specific activities/workshops, which have a limited number of seats available, will require pre-registration. Prior to the Conference day, related updates and notifications for pre-registration will be sent either via email or social media posts, to all ticket holders at that time.

• Keep in mind that if you delay your ticket purchase, you may not have the chance to book your seat in any of the available workshops.

Expect communication of updates and notifications to start right after, September 1st.

In the luminous heart of Athens, where ancient myths meet cutting-edge innovation, TEDxAthens is set to embark on a momentous journey as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. With the theme "x Machina," we invite you to delve into the intricate tapestry of humanity's modern odyssey—a narrative woven with threads of technological marvels, human ingenuity, and ethical reckonings.

As the world hurtles towards an era of unprecedented technological advancement, the line between the natural and the artificial blurs. "x Machina" beckons us to explore this convergence, to ponder the profound implications, and to chart a course guided by wisdom and compassion.

At TEDxAthens 2024, visionaries, innovators, and thought leaders from around the globe will converge to illuminate the path forward.

Against the backdrop of ancient ruins and modern marvels and hosted for the first time at Athens Epidaurus Festival Pireos 260, TEDxAthens 2024 will serve as a crucible for dialogue, exploration, and inspiration, embodying the spirit and timeless concept of “Deus ex Machina” in today’s complex world.

-6-7th of July 2024: General Meet and Greet (Virtual)
-14th of September 2024: General Training (morning - 4 hours)
-21st-22nd of September 2024: Specific Training & Venue tour (morning - 4 hours)
-1-2 days (depending on the team you will be placed in) prior to the Main Conference (4-6 hours) upon confirmation

- Each Volunteer participates in the TEDxAthens Volunteer Programme on their free will.
- The Volunteer declares that their personal data submitted in the Volunteer Application Form are true.
- Communication with the respective interested party who has submitted their Volunteer Application can run via email/phone/SMS.
- The trainings of the volunteers are mandatory
- The Volunteer placement depends on and is determined by the needs of the Event.
- All Volunteers must respect and abide with the rules of the race throughout its conduct.
- All Volunteers must follow the instructions of their team leader who is responsible of the Event field of their volunteer service throughout the duration of their volunteer service.
- During the Volunteer service all Volunteers must display on top of the apparel the accreditation distributed to them.
- The accreditation that will be given to the Volunteers is personal, cannot be transferred to other people, and it is applicable and concerns only the presence of the volunteer in a specific appointment place of Volunteer service.
- Upon submission of his/her application form, the applicant to the program agrees that his/her personal data will be processed for reasons that serve the fulfilment of the purposes and objectives of the Organizing Team.
- Any other processing of the Volunteer’s personal data will take place only under the condition of his/her previous consent as per the stated specific purpose.
- All Volunteers accept that their personal data will be made known to the Insurance Company which the Organizing Team employs in the context of the insurance of the event with the purpose to include them in the insurance agreement in case of accidents that may occur during their service at the Event.

We invite you to join TEDxAthens in a spirit of curiosity, friendliness, open-mindedness, and respect. We will not tolerate harassment, in any form, at a TEDxAthens event.

At a TEDxAthens event, you agree to:

- Respect the boundaries of other attendees.
- Avoid aggressively pushing your own services, products or causes.
- Respect confidentiality requests by speakers and other attendees.
- Look out for one another.
- Contribute to an inclusive event experience through respectful interactions with all TEDxAthens attendees.

These behaviors don’t belong at a TEDxAthens event:

- Invasion of privacy, including taking photos, requesting selfies of people you don’t know, taking screenshots of conversations or posting personal details about someone else without their permission.
- Being disruptive, drinking excessively, stalking, following or threatening anyone.
- Abuse of power (including abuses related to position, wealth, race or gender).
- Ignoring health or safety guidelines that place yourself or others at risk.
- Homophobia, racism or behavior that discriminates against a group or class of people.
- Sexual harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention and inappropriate physical contact.

During each TEDxAthens Event, we aim to create an inclusive and respectful environment where everyone feels safe to share their ideas and opinions. We ask that all attendees, speakers, performers, volunteers, and staff members (“TEDxsters”) share the same core values and ethical principles, as follows:

- Respectful and Professional Behavior: We are all expected to conduct ourselves in a professional and respectful manner towards each other.
- No Discrimination or Harassment: We do not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic. This includes verbal or physical abuse, sexual harassment, or any other form of unwanted behavior.
- Safe Environment: We strive to create a safe environment for every TEDxster. Please report any concerns or incidents of misconduct to info@tedxathens.com.
- No Unlawful or Disruptive Behavior: We are expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and not engage in any behavior that disrupts any TEDxAthens event and/or the TEDxsters.
- No Unauthorized Recording: Recording or distributing any part of a TEDxAthens event without prior consent is strictly prohibited.
- Follow the Speaker/Performer Guidelines: If you are a speaker or performer, please follow the guidelines provided by the event organizers.
- Respect Others’ Intellectual Property: We all respect the intellectual property of others, including their ideas, presentations, and materials.
- Follow Health and Safety Guidelines: We are all expected to follow any health and safety guidelines provided by the event organizers.
- Diversity and Inclusion: We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all TEDxsters, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic.
- Responsibility and Reporting: Event organizers and staff members are responsible for enforcing the Code. If you experience or witness any violations of this Code, please report it to info@tedxathens.com. During the event, you can reach out to the designated info desk, to provide you with more information on how to submit your concern. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and respect.

Reporting of violations

If you experience or witness any violations of this Code, please report it to the event staff immediately and/or use our name-optional reporting form to let key TEDxAthens managers know. Share as much information as you can to help us make a thorough investigation of the onsite incident. All reports will be handled with confidentiality and respect and will be investigated by TEDxAthens.

Consequences of violations

TEDxAthens Conference 2023 organizers reserve the right to take appropriate actions, including but not limited to, expelling the attendee from the conference, without refund, and prohibiting them from attending future TEDxAthens events. They also reserve the right to terminate any relationship at any time without any liability with any speaker, performer, volunteer, and staff member in case of the latter violates this Code.
Communication, review and update of the Code

The Code will be communicated to all TEDxsters via various channels (e.g. via the conference website, social media, e-mail). This Code will be reviewed regularly to ensure that it remains up-to-date and effective. Any feedback from TEDxsters will be appreciated and revisions will be made, as deemed appropriate.
